Tax Advisory Manager - Trusts & Estates

Clark Wood, specialists in Accountancy Practice and Tax recruitment, are partnering with a prominent and leading Yorkshire based firm who are looking to recruit an experienced and driven Tax Advisory Manager to their team in Leeds.

Joining the firm as Tax Advisory Manager, you will be responsible for the firm’s Trust and Estate clients specifically in both an advisory and compliance capacity, however you will also be required to work on advisory projects with the wider advisory team.

You will play an integral role in the continued success and development of the firm’s tax offering, working closely with the Partners on a wide range of projects.

The ideal person for the position will be CTA Qualified and will have at least 2 years’ experience in an advisory focused role. Specialist experience in Inheritance Tax, Trusts and Estates including the preparation of Trust Accounts, would be preferred.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Maintaining relationships with clients, working closely with them to obtain relief from inheritance tax as well as mitigating any increase exposure to inheritance tax going forward.
2. Dealing with ten year and exit charges and planning around these as they arise.
3. Advising trustees on the level of income distributions and any tax repayable.
4. Preparation of the firm’s Trusts Accounts and tax returns as well as ensuring compliance with HMRC.
5. Dealing with HMRC enquiry work as it arises.

Skills:

1. Ideally CTA Qualified, although ACA / ACCA / QBE will be considered.
2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Strong Personal Tax experience within a practice environment is essential.
4. Trusts & Estates advisory experience.
