Job description

In this role, as a Sr. Supplier Quality manager, you will be focusing on enhancing and scaling up our manufacturing quality processes. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in integrating quality measures, facilitating the scale-up of mechanisms, and consolidating quality data across various projects to identify areas for further improvement and ensure the highest quality standards of production.


Responsibilities include conducting early Design for Quality and Manufacturability reviews from a quality, automation, and manufacturing standpoint, with a particular focus on mechanical parts and device assembling and key commodities such as mechanical and electronic mechanical parts. This position requires close collaboration with our Asia suppliers, internal Engineering and Operation teams to evaluate issues and provide practical solutions to problems from materials, design, and process.


The Supplier Quality manager will be instrumental in driving the standardization and consistency of quality mechanisms across key component suppliers. This includes overseeing data mining activities, analyzing results, and leveraging these insights to offer recommendations, conclusions, and actionable solutions for continuous improvement. On the scope and influence functional dimensions, the role can influence stakeholders/partners. Some roles work across an organization to meet a goal. May work on more than one program. Mentors and develops others.


This role will need to travel and interact with internal leadership and external suppliers, creating a collaborative environment to enhance product quality and efficiency.

Key job responsibilities
  1. Integrate and enhance manufacturing quality processes, scale-up mechanisms, and consolidate quality data for various projects.
  2. Work with core team to conduct early DFM reviews with a focus on quality, automation, and manufacturing for assembly and critical commodities especially mechanical parts.
  3. Collaborate with our field and Asia teams to identify and implement solutions to issues caused by materials, design, and processes.
  4. Promote standardization and consistency in quality mechanisms across all projects.
  5. Oversee data mining, analyze results, and provide recommendations, conclusions, and actionable solutions for improvement.
  6. Travel as needed to work with internal leaders and external technical suppliers.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or another STEM field.
  2. Over 10 years of experience in project management, quality engineering, process engineering, or a related field.
  3. Experience with SMT and final assembly, testing, packaging, and relevant audits.
  4. Hands-on expertise in identifying cause-and-effect relationships for key commodities such as Microphone, Adaptor, Speaker, Lens and PCBs.
  5. Experience with mechanical parts manufacture process including plastic injection, painting, assembly, surface treatment process and related quality management experience.
  6. Experience with metal parts manufacture process including stamping, die-casting, CNC, Anodizing and CTQ (Critical To Quality) process with quality control method to well control in-process quality.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Six Sigma certification.
  2. + 5 years of experience in quality control, lean manufacturing efforts, or design validation.
  3. Experience conducting quality system/process audits.
  4. Proficiency in Mandarin and English.
  5. Excellent report and documentation writing skills in English.
