Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to join our innovative and highly committed teaching team at the recently opened Free School; Bluecoat Trent Academy. We invite applications for the post of Teacher of Social Science from outstanding, enthusiastic and successful teachers with a proven ability to teach inspirational lessons to our students. Interest from Early Careers Teachers is also welcomed.

We are now in our fourth year of opening therefore and whilst our successful culture is well established we are just embarking on KS4 for the first time. The successful applicant will therefore have the opportunity to work closely with the Lead Teachers, SLT and colleagues from across the Trust to develop our GCSE and vocational provision. A desire to collaborate is welcomed. Equally as important will be the aspiration to be part of our visionary staff team and growing school community. We are looking for teachers who have the ambition to shape the school into an outstanding provider. Candidates should consider the school’s ethos and values to ensure these align with their own. This is an exciting time to join Bluecoat Trent as we design the curriculum and establish ourselves in the community at our brand new school premises.

Whilst this post holder will be predominantly based at Bluecoat Trent Academy, they may be deployed across any of the academies within the Trust in accordance with the needs of the Trust as we grow and develop. There is also the possibility of teaching Key Stage 5 at one of our other sites for the right candidate.

Candidates should pay attention to the job description/person specification and explain within their application how they meet the criteria, whilst also describing what they will bring to the post from their own knowledge and experience. We would welcome applicants from ECTs and can consider applications for part time working patterns.
