Job Title: Firefighter Trainer
Location: Beckton or Park Royal
Compensation: £42,132 - £43,888 + Benefits

At Babcock we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together, and if you join us, you can play your part as a Firefighter Trainer supporting the London Fire Brigade at either our Beckton or Park Royal site.

The Role

As a Firefighter Trainer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be delivering courses that look at modern-day firefighting techniques, in a variety of scenarios that will mean every operational firefighter will have the knowledge and skills to attend dynamic incidents safely.

Day-to-day, you’ll deliver an excellent student experience in accordance with the programme requirements:

  • Deliver training courses and conduct feedback to a professional and consistent standard in accordance with LFB requirements.
  • Maintain own subject and professional competence in accordance with organisational requirements.
  • Pilot new initiatives in training when required.
  • Accurate completion and prompt submission of all relevant course documentation.

Please note that this position involves manual work, which could include lifting, bending, or standing for extended periods of time.

This role is full-time, 37.5 hours per week and is based at either Park Royal or Beckton.

Essential Experience of the Firefighter Trainer
  • Comprehensive understanding of the fire service and the evidence base current context, challenges, and issues gained either through previous operational or training experience.
  • Fire service experience (beneficial).
  • Excellent literacy, numeracy, and communication skills.
  • Ability to support, motivate, and inspire others, driving performance and professionalism.
Qualifications for the Firefighter Trainer

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) / Developed Vetting (DV) / Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) security clearance for this role.
