We are seeking a Senior Publisher, Publishing Development, to manage and develop a portfolio of Open Access journals. This role will focus on driving strategic growth, ensuring editorial excellence, and fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders, including editors, societies, and institutions. The Senior Publisher will play a pivotal role in the success of the portfolio by implementing innovative publishing strategies and maintaining a competitive market position.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Oversee the strategic development of a portfolio of journals to drive submissions, acceptances, and published content growth.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with editors and society partners, ensuring effective collaboration and performance management.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for commercial growth, including new journal launches.
  • Monitor industry trends and their implications for Wiley, using insights to inform publishing strategies.
  • Deliver presentations, workshops, and webinars to engage the research community and reinforce Wiley's position as a thought leader.
  • Work collaboratively across departments to optimize publishing workflows, ensuring efficiency and high-quality output.
  • Provide regular reports and strategic updates to senior leadership on journal performance and development initiatives.

We Are Looking for People Who Have:

  • 5+ years of experience in publishing, with a strong understanding of journal development and industry trends.
  • Proven ability to manage relationships with editors, societies, and stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Experience in developing and executing strategic publishing initiatives to drive content growth and engagement.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex publishing trends and data insights effectively.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to work independently and make strategic decisions.
  • Experience in managing and developing Open Access journals.
