Alternatives Technology Team - JPMorgan Asset Management

The Alternatives Technology team is looking for a Java and React JS developer to join their London team. The developer will join the existing development team to work directly with the Global Transportation Group (GTG). GTG sources and manages a large portfolio of maritime, aircraft, and related infrastructure assets. They will capture business requirements, design, and implement solutions for a broad range of projects. This is a great opportunity for a technologist to work directly with the business on every aspect of building out a bespoke portfolio management platform.

The successful candidate

• Will be part of the Alts development team that works directly with the GTG investment team and broader multi-region business.
• Must be curious, hardworking, detail-oriented, and motivated by complex business problems.
• Should be able to work individually and as part of a team to achieve project goals.
• Should be able to switch between business analysis at the early stage of the project, to design and development, through implementation and to DevOps once the product goes live, covering all aspects of the software development life cycle.
• Should demonstrate interest in financial markets and be eager to communicate directly with the business users.
• Must have a desire to learn and grow their fund management knowledge.

Required Skills

• Strong experience with Java and React JS.
• Experience working with private or public cloud platforms.
• A good understanding of database technologies like PostgreSQL or similar.
• Experience in Agile Development.
• Business analysis and analytical skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working in enterprise financial services.
• Prior experience working in small multi-skilled technology teams.
• Knowledge and experience in real assets businesses.
