Job Advertisement: Substation Construction Fitter (Outside IR35)

Location: Bury St Edmunds
Rate: £300 per day (Outside IR35)
Contract Type: 6-Month Contract (Possibility of extension)

Morson Talent is currently seeking a Substation Construction Fitter to join a project team in the Bury St Edmunds area. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a high-profile electrical infrastructure project, focusing on the replacement of primary transformers (33/11kv) and associated switchgear and plant. Additionally, the role involves the management of secondary substation asset replacements as part of the work portfolio in the Eastern region.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Work as part of a team to deliver the replacement of primary transformers and associated switchgear.
2. Manage and oversee secondary substation asset replacements as part of self-managed quality of supply schemes.
3. Demonstrate a sound knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and CDM requirements for the work being undertaken.
4. Ensure the successful and safe completion of all works to the required standards and within tight deadlines.

Requirements:

1. Proven experience in the replacement of primary (33/11kv) transformers and associated plant and switchgear.
2. Previous experience in self-managed quality of supply schemes involving secondary substation asset replacements.
3. Current holder of DNO competencies (preferred).
4. A strong understanding of CDM requirements and the ability to demonstrate previous excellent Health and Safety performance.

Skills & Qualifications:

1. Relevant electrical engineering qualifications or experience.
2. Valid DNO competency certificates (preferred).
3. Demonstrable Health and Safety knowledge and experience.
4. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
