An established manufacturing business is seeking a Contract Maintenance Engineer to enhance their team in Wirral. In this role, you will be responsible for minimizing equipment downtime through proactive and reactive maintenance, ensuring smooth operations by collaborating with engineering and factory teams. Ideal candidates will have a time-served apprenticeship in Mechanical or Electrical engineering, with necessary qualifications such as I.E.E 17th Edition for electrical bias. gap technical is proud to be representing an established manufacturing business in their search for Contract Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineers to join their team in Wirral.

Key Responsibilities:

Minimise downtime through proactive and reactive maintenance of equipment.
Conduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond promptly to breakdowns.
Maintain accurate maintenance records using CMMS.
Collaborate with engineering and factory teams to ensure smooth operations.
Adhere to health & safety regulations and operating procedures.

About You:

Qualified Engineer - Time-served apprenticeship (Mechanical or Electrical), minimum City & Guilds or equivalent.
Electrically biased? You'll need I.E.E 17th Edition qualification.
Mechanically biased? You'll need a safe working knowledge of basic electrical fault-finding, lock-off, and isolation procedures.
Industry Experience - Ideally from food or packaging manufacturing.
