Role: OT Security Consultant

Location - Remote

Role Overview

This position is part of the OT Cyber Security team within a broader consulting practice. The team supports clients across critical national infrastructure sectors, such as energy, water, and aviation, as well as manufacturing organizations with significant OT dependencies. The primary responsibility is delivering OT Cyber Security services to clients, assisting them in addressing complex challenges, and achieving robust security and resilience.

Key Services

1. Enhancing clients’ Cyber Security maturity and resilience, sometimes starting from minimal security maturity.
2. Supporting the adoption and implementation of frameworks, standards, and guidance, such as ISA/IEC 62443, NCSC CAF, NIST SP 800-82, and HSE OG86.
3. Identifying and analyzing potential attack vectors exploitable by threats.
4. Designing secure OT network architectures, perimeter defenses, and remote access solutions.
5. Developing secure OT cloud data center solutions.
6. Delivering innovative security solutions to address limitations in legacy OT systems.
7. Supporting the selection and implementation of security technologies and solutions.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

1. Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with engineers, stakeholders, and senior management.
2. Expertise in OT Cyber Security controls, solutions, and the Purdue Enterprise Reference Architecture (PERA) model.
3. Experience working in industrial environments, including familiarity with change management procedures and FAT/SAT processes.
4. Capability to devise innovative solutions for OT Cyber Security challenges, such as IdAM limitations, OT protocol vulnerabilities, and update complexities.
5. An understanding of the impact of cyber security incidents across various OT environments and the differing priorities of OT vs. IT Cyber Security.
6. Proficiency in conducting Cyber Security risk assessments.
7. Knowledge of frameworks such as ISA/IEC 62443, NCSC CAF, NIST SP 800-82, HSE OG86, and ISA TR84.
8. Ability to interpret process control and single-line diagrams.
9. Experience designing and implementing enterprise security solutions.
10. Aware of the OT security threat landscape and a solid grasp of SCADA and PLC technologies.
11. Strong network and network security knowledge.
12. Proficiency in technical authoring and familiarity with cloud platforms (advantageous).
13. Broad understanding of operating systems and IT infrastructure.
