Quality Control Manager

My client based in St Ives, Cambridgeshire is currently recruiting for a Quality Control Manager to join their team on a full-time permanent basis. You will take responsibility for managing the Quality Management System and ensuring that processes and manufactured products fully comply with and always exceed demanding customer expectations.

This position will be office based.

Hours: Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm.

Salary: £40-45,000 per annum.

Role Responsibilities
  1. Participate in senior management reviews, directly influencing the business plan and key performance indicators.
  2. Manage the QC team: one QC Assistant and a Compliance Manager.
  3. Co-ordinate external audits with BSI.
  4. Organise and perform our internal auditing of each separate business area.
  5. Continually evolve best working practices and procedures to deliver ISO9001:2015 certification.
  6. Overall responsibility for the Quality and Procedure Manuals (Standard Operating Procedures).
  7. Co-ordinate and support all QA and QC activities within the company and across our worldwide distributor network.
  8. Reporting directly to the Director.
  9. Manage all customer quality improvement initiatives.
  10. Lead supplier quality assessments and improvement initiatives.
  11. Responsible for the quality control aspects of production and calibration, service and inspection activities and processes.
  12. Co-ordinate environmental initiatives.
  13. Champion root cause analysis and preventative actions.
  14. Actively support New Product Development activities.
What We Are Looking For
  1. Five years minimum experience as a Quality manager or similar role.
  2. Experience with Quality Assurance Management processes.
  3. Knowledge of methodologies of quality assurance and standards.
  4. Excellent numerical skills and understanding of data analysis/statistical methods.
  5. Extensive knowledge of MS Office and databases.
  6. Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on company success.
  7. Critical thinker with problem-solving skills experienced in 7D analysis.
  8. Understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
  9. Good time-management skills.
  10. Great interpersonal and communication skills.
  11. Certification of quality control is a strong advantage (ISO 9001 etc.).
  12. Qualified ISO internal auditor (training can be done).
