We have an exciting opportunity for a knowledgeable, career driven trading underwriter to join one of our London based commercial underwriting teams! This is a perfect job for someone who is currently a multi-class underwriter (Property & Liability and/or Motor Trade) and is now ready for their next challenge - as Aviva can offer fantastic development opportunities and exposure to an international remit, as you'll work with some of the UK's largest brokers and clients over a wide range of jurisdictions!

This role requires a proactive and strategic approach to building a portfolio of both brokers and customers. You will play a vital role in growing our market presence and driving the success of our New and/or Existing business teams.

Aviva has introduced a 'smart-working' policy, requiring employees to attend the office in London 50% of the time.

A bit about the job:

The job requires you to work collaboratively internally and externally within one of our London underwriting teams to support both the Senior Underwriter and Team Manager in delivering financial growth plans. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with our brokers and customers to gain a deeper understanding of their needs. By using data insights, you will ensure that we deliver comprehensive solutions tailored to the outstanding requirements of each customer. In turn, you will need to showcase great organisation and time management skills as you will need to manage your own diary successfully in a fast-paced environment.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

1. Previous Property, Liability and/or Motor Trade underwriting experience
2. Strong ability to analyse risks and communicate and present effectively to brokers and/or customers
3. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a large complex organisation
4. Confident trading abilities with a broad panel of brokers and good knowledge of the FCA and other relevant regulation and legislation
5. Strong commercial business acumen to create and deliver business cases
