About the AIT Mechanical Engineer Position

As the AIT Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for providing critical assembly, integration, and testing (AIT) support for the production of satellites and payloads. This will involve writing processes, plans, and procedures in 3D Experience, as well as supporting the hardware assembly and environmental testing of the satellite.

You will work closely with the Mechanical Systems, Technical Authority, and AIT teams, ensuring the seamless integration of all mechanical components. Your strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail will be essential in this role, as you navigate the various challenges that arise during the satellite production process.

Key Responsibilities of the AIT Mechanical Engineer

• Support the customisation phase of projects, including participation in DMU sessions and the creation of documentation
• Lead the installation of satellite appendages and manage the associated integration flows and preparation
• Assist the AIT Lead Engineering team during periods of high workload
• Create MBOMs and build processes in DDMS, as well as support process owners with operational activities
• Oversee unit installation activities on the satellite and support quality reviews, PFMEA, and root cause analysis

Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need a minimum of an HNC in a Mechanical discipline, or a lesser qualification with extensive industry experience. You should have a strong understanding of complex mechanical systems, as well as experience in lean manufacturing techniques, environmental testing, and mechanical integration of various satellite components.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team and adapt to changing priorities, are also essential.
