About The Role
Our Westfield Park Care Home (Goole) is looking for an Activity & Events Coordinator to join the team! Full training, onboarding, and support will be provided. Working 32.5 hours a week predominantly 9:30am – 4:30pm with alternate weekends required.
The role is key to our residents’ happiness and will include planning, organizing, executing, and leading internal and external activities and events in response to the identified wants, wishes, and needs of our residents.
You will support the Activity and Event Lead with creating and nurturing local community links and partners, carry out administrative duties, be computer literate, and have a good understanding of social media. You will be able to work as part of a team and have a positive impact on both the home and our residents.
You will work closely with the Activity and Events Lead and group marketing manager and will support the marketing and PR strategy for the home.

Previous experience working with children or adults, or within event planning, clubs, or administrative roles would be an advantage – however, full training will be provided.
Overview of Job Role:
- Support the Activity and Events Lead with planning, organizing, and executing the weekly plan of activities or planned events within the home.
- Support with all pre-planning of seasonal events and have great organizational skills.
- Plan and book all external excursions on the Yorkare Minibus to local landmarks and events.
- Attend and support residents on planned external excursions.
- Shared responsibility for the weekly upkeep of the home's social media page (Facebook).
- Support with maintaining the weekly activities CQC evidence folder.
- Daily input of all activity notes on internal systems.
- Monitor own emails and action them (internal and external).
- Support with the upkeep of the home’s notice boards, information updates, initiatives, and events (weekly/monthly).
- Create, update, and distribute the Yorkare Monthly Newsletter.
- Full stock control of the in-house shop and bar, including monthly reviews and purchasing.
- Attend monthly meetings with the home Manager and group Marketing Manager to discuss planned activities and upcoming events.
- Community Links – responsible for creating and building a network of local community links and partners.
- Create posters and notices to advertise planned events.
- Full responsibility for all fundraising ideas and events to support the in-home residents' fund.
- Attend monthly resident meetings to update on all activities, engagements, plans, and trips.
- Create the internal Activity Report summarizing all activities carried out and feedback received.
- Be responsible with the registered manager for the appropriate use of the home’s activities programme budget/fund.
- Continually risk assess activities in relation to individual residents.
- Investigate, develop, and extend the range of activities and interests offered by the home.
- Review and evaluate the activities program to keep it up to date.
- Organize and carry out regular resident/family satisfaction surveys of the activities provided.
- Responsible for the decoration of the home for events and seasonal parties.
- Plan and execute events that engage both employees and residents.
- Forward planning and booking of all live entertainment for the home.
- Planning and executing all large events for the home.
