Job description

Quality Management Assistant
Location: Sizewell B Power Station
Pay Rate: £16.31 to £16.91 p/h
Hours: 37 hours per week

To provide year-round contractor support to the EDF Energy Quality Management Group primarily for Emergency Preparedness, and supporting both Industrial Safety and Fire Safety.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct routine surveillance tests (STPs) in accordance with the EDF emergency plan equipment operability technical specification programme, and report any shortfalls identified via the correct reporting channels.
  2. Use a wide range of IT-based software (i.e., be comfortable using Word, e-mail/internet).
  3. Support the station's emergency exercise program at the direction of the emergency preparedness engineer, as per the Quality plan for emergency exercises.
  4. Perform safety walks as a member of the Quality Management group.
  5. Undertake general safety support activities and routines at the direction of either the Emergency Preparedness Engineer, Fire Safety Coordinator, and Conventional Safety Compliance Coordinator (e.g., delivering training, event investigation & follow-up, implementing actions to improve work area safety).
  6. Take an active position within the Industrial Safety team during refueling/forced outages, covering shift work as required.
  7. Conduct specialist safety assessments for the station including manual handling assessments, display screen equipment assessments, safety harness instructors course Level II, safety harness fall arrest lines examination and inspection, ladder inspections, life-jacket inspections, and maintenance.

  1. Site Induction / GERT Generic Module (INDUCTGENGEN)
  2. IM Security Level 2 (IMSECUREL2)
  3. Fire Prevention (FIREPREV GEN)
  4. Fire Warden (GESTR24 GEN)
  5. Nuclear Safety Culture Workshop (NUCSAFCW GEN)
  6. Nuclear Professionals HU Fundamentals Workshop (HUMPERFWKGEN)
  7. Protect Personal Data Training (GDPR) (PPD)
  8. Assigned Test Person (SWXS07 SZB)
  9. WM6 and Action Tracking (WM6AT1 SZB)
  10. Entry into controlled areas (ECA GEN & DUUC Gen)
  11. PWR Short Course (PWRSHORT)
  12. SC Vetting

There is also an expectation to undertake further training as requested in line with the clients and Manpower operational requirements.
