Key Responsibilities

As Group Financial Controller, you will:

  • Lead Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of interim and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Management Reporting:
    • Ensure cyclical reporting processes are produced accurately and on a timely basis, including Snapshot, Final results, Forecasts; Budgeting; Strategic planning.
    • Investigate and challenge variances from budget/forecast.
    • Provide weekly reporting of sales, foreign exchange exposures and cashflows/borrowings.
    • Manage head office companies; Calculate charges under IFRS 2; Process monthly divisional recharges.
  • Business Partnering: Collaborate with the head office team and build strong relationships with business unit finance teams to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making processes.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of four finance professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
  • Oversee Tax and Treasury Functions: Ensure compliance with tax regulations, manage treasury operations, and optimize the company's financial position.
  • Manage Internal Controls: Develop and maintain robust financial controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure regulatory compliance.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Professional Qualifications: Be a qualified ACA accountant with strong technical financial reporting skills, particularly under IFRS.
  • Experience: Have over five years’ post-qualification experience, (PLC environment preferred but not essential), with a strong controls mindset and background.
  • Leadership / Business Partnering Skills: Demonstrate outstanding communication skills, personal gravitas, and experience in managing and developing a team of qualified accountants, as well as confidently interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Technical Expertise: Possess a good understanding of tax, treasury, and consolidation systems, with the ability to handle audits to tight timescales.
