Job overview

An interesting opportunity has arisen for a specialist audiologist with a passion for adult audiology, to join the Audiology Team at St George's NHS Hospital for a period of 23 months. The post-holder will be expected to deliver a variety of clinics focused on adult audiology, such as providing advanced diagnostics, being involved in clinics for adults with additional needs, and contributing to the adult direct access pathways including doing clinics but also assisting in developing, executing and auditing pathway initiatives such as adult hearing aid masterclasses. An in-depth level of knowledge and experience of the relevant BSA and BAA protocols is therefore required. The ideal candidate would be a well-rounded, motivated audiologist with leadership qualities, a passion for service excellence, who displays good scientific practice. The suitable applicant will be able to maintain and build on their skills in other clinical areas such as hearing therapy, vestibular or paediatrics.

Main duties of the job

You will be expected to deliver services at St George’s Hospital and nearby satellite clinics. You will also be expected to participate in research, service reviews and departmental audits in addition to contributing to the development of the audiology service.

You will be working within a large, dynamic and friendly multidisciplinary team who strive to offer an exceptional standard of patient care.

Skills and knowledge

  • Demonstrate reflective practice

Experience

  • Clinical Audiology to have cemented baseline knowledge
  • Clinical Audit
  • Worked within national protocols such as BSA, NHSP, BAA
  • Work in non-standard audiology area
  • Practice in non-standard area (HT / vest / paed aud)

Qualifications

  • State registration with HCPC / RCCP
  • MSc in Audiology or equivalent
  • Certificate / Diploma in specialist area
  • Course(s) in hearing therapy/vest/paeds

Other

  • Good English written and verbal communication skills
  • Good time management
