Job Title: Commercial Manager
Location: Crawley, UK
Salary: Up to GBP95,000 + benefits
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Manager to join a leading Tier One Property Services Contractor in Crawley. This role involves overseeing a significant 10-year repairs and maintenance contract for one of the UK's largest housing associations. The successful candidate will manage a team comprising a Quantity Surveyor and an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, reporting directly to the Commercial Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contract Management: Lead the commercial aspects of the 10-year repairs and maintenance contract, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations and delivery of high-quality services.
- Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop a team of commercial professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Financial Oversight: Monitor and report on financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control, to ensure profitability and value for money.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary commercial point of contact for the client and internal stakeholders, addressing concerns and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Risk Management: Identify potential commercial risks and implement strategies to mitigate them, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Strategic Development: Contribute to the development and execution of commercial strategies that align with the company's objectives and drive business growth.
Requirements:
- Experience: Proven experience as a Commercial Manager within the property services, housing, or maintenance sectors, with a strong track record in managing large-scale contracts.
- Leadership: Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience in managing and developing teams, including Quantity Surveyors.
- Financial Acumen: Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control, with the ability to analyse and interpret financial data.
- Negotiation Skills: Exceptional negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Risk Management: Solid understanding of risk management principles, with the ability to identify, assess, and mitigate commercial risks.
- Qualifications: A degree in Commercial Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field is preferred. Chartered status (e.g., MRICS) is advantageous but not essential.
