Job description

Applications Engineer

The Opportunity:

As a seasoned Applications Engineer, NPI Engineer, or engineering Project Manager, you will oversee the complete cradle-to-grave production of a bespoke engineered product for customers throughout the UK and globally. Your role will be to provide through-life support between external customers and the internal design, test, production, logistics, and technical support teams of this fascinating company. It is essential that the Applications Engineer / NPI Engineer has a passion for engineering and preferably a good knowledge of vehicles and automotive systems.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Support Project Engineers and Design Engineers to influence the design and development of existing and future platforms for ease of support and successful delivery of multiple projects.
  2. Interface with customers to provide equipment support planning and management, and continuous improvement of product supportability through its complete lifecycle.
  3. Support Project Managers regarding 'through-life support' project elements.
  4. Advise on designs for supportability and maintainability.
  5. Define maintenance and sparing requirements and the publications workflow.
  6. Author publications content in a Technical Authoring manner while producing technical illustrations using Solidworks (Autocad experience also considered).

Skills Required:

  1. Automotive engineering experience or a strong interest in vehicles and how they work.
  2. Good working knowledge of engineering practices and procedures including document control.
  3. Competent in reviewing documentation such as specifications, drawings, and reports.
  4. Good working knowledge of system engineering practices and procedures.
  5. Knowledge of AESP publication standards, combined with a good working knowledge of Solidworks or similar CAD software.

Full time - 40 hour week, 8.30-5 Mon to Thurs and 8.30-1 Fri
