Job description

As a Project Development Manager, you will play a key role in securing contracts and supporting development activities. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the expansion of onshore wind projects in the region.

Vestas Development is a strategic business unit within Vestas, dedicated to driving growth by originating and developing new wind projects globally. The department operates through in-house resources and strategic partnerships, supporting Vestas' broader turbine business.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project development agreements, including development activities, quality assurance, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Support business development, assisting the regional head in identifying new opportunities and originating development and investment prospects.
  • Oversee due diligence, managing internal and third-party assessments while conducting technical and financial evaluations.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders, preparing high-level presentations and documentation for executive approvals.
  • Demonstrate leadership in project management, effectively managing multiple tasks while leading complex, cross-functional, and international teams.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of proven experience in the UK energy sector, with a strong background in wind or renewable project development.
  • Degree in Business or Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil) or Business Management.
  • Fluent in English (mandatory); proficiency in additional languages is highly advantageous.
  • Experience in procuring development service agreements, consultant agreements, and construction contracts (EPC/BOP) or prior experience working for a wind or PV original equipment manufacturer (OEM) is a plus.
  • Desirable experience in offtake origination, sourcing, structuring, execution, and negotiation of commercial agreements essential for project financing.
