Job description

VINCE, a leader in luxury contemporary apparel for both women and men, is seeking an enthusiastic, customer-focused Full-Time Assistant Store Manager to join our team at our London Store. As the Assistant Store Manager (ASM), you will play a key role in assisting the Store Manager with daily store operations, ensuring the highest standards of customer service, and driving sales performance. You will be responsible for helping meet and exceed the store’s sales goals, contributing directly to revenue growth. The ASM will also assist in hiring, training, and managing the store’s sales associates to ensure optimal performance and a high level of customer satisfaction.

In this role, you will be expected to model exceptional customer service, oversee store presentation, and ensure smooth operational functions, including floor coverage, visual merchandising, and loss prevention. The ASM will also support the Store Manager in executing company policies and procedures, helping maintain a strong and motivated team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales and Customer Service: Assist in driving sales and achieving store targets by providing outstanding customer service, fostering customer loyalty, and coaching team members to do the same.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Support the recruitment, training, and development of sales associates to ensure high levels of performance and product knowledge.
  • Store Operations: Ensure smooth daily operations, including opening and closing the store, managing cash handling procedures, and overseeing store inventory.
  • Visual Merchandising: Collaborate with the Store Manager to maintain high standards of visual merchandising, ensuring product displays are aligned with brand guidelines.
  • Staff Supervision: Assist in managing the team, ensuring they are motivated, productive, and consistently delivering excellent service.
  • Customer Relationships: Build strong, long-term relationships with customers and assist in managing the store’s client book and clienteling efforts.
  • Administrative Tasks: Assist with inventory management, scheduling, and other administrative duties such as reporting and documentation.
Skills and Experience Required
  • Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of retail management experience, preferably in a luxury or high-end retail environment.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership abilities, with a proven track record of motivating and managing a team to achieve sales targets.
  • Customer Service: Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to create a positive shopping experience for all customers.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with staff, customers, and management.
  • Sales Focus: A strong sales-driven attitude, with the ability to support and encourage the team to meet and exceed targets.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in retail point-of-sale (POS) systems, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), and other basic office applications.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle customer complaints and operational issues efficiently.
