End User Compute Engineer
Windows
Aerospace & Defence
Remote, occasional travel to Guildford
Up to £60,000 + Bonus

We're working with a global organisation that provides products and services to UK and US government agencies to span areas including Maritime, Air, Land, Cyber, Electronics and Aerospace. You'll be joining during an exciting time of growth and innovation, working on multi-billion-pound programmes of work for the Ministry of Defence.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Building and maintaining Windows desktop images.
  2. Provide support for Infrastructure, Networks, and Windows Systems and applications.
  3. Look for ways to maximise Desktop performance through monitoring, troubleshooting and scheduling upgrades.
  4. Secure Windows Systems, administering firewalls and switched network environments.
  5. Collaborate with the team to develop solutions approved by Architecture.

Background required:

  1. Windows background
  2. Strong VMWare knowledge, ideally with Horizon
  3. Automation tools: Packer and PowerShell
  4. Understanding of Active Directory, DNS etc for troubleshooting
  5. Experience with CIS benchmarks
