Project Developer – Renewable Energy Developer & IPP

Are you a skilled Project Developer with a passion for driving renewable energy projects from origination through to FID?

We are working with a dynamic and well-funded renewable energy company that develops, constructs, and operates a range of assets, including solar, offshore, and onshore wind projects. They currently manage over 900MW of operational assets and are in hyper-growth mode, aiming to exceed 2GW by the end of 2025.

In this role, you will support the development activities for new Solar PV and Onshore Wind Farms across the UK. You will oversee projects from land acquisition to preparing planning applications through to securing grid connections and ensuring a smooth transition to construction handover.

Responsibilities:

1. Identify and assess suitable sites for Solar PV and Onshore Wind projects
2. Conduct feasibility studies, including grid and environmental assessments
3. Support the preparation of planning applications
4. Engage with local authorities, stakeholders, and communities
5. Liaise with internal experts to secure grid connections and manage agreements with DNOs and TOs
6. Negotiate and finalise land agreements with landowners
7. Support financial modelling and maintain project budgets
8. Ensure a smooth transition of projects to construction

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
2. Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role related to the development of renewable energy projects
3. Commercially astute with a growth mindset and willingness to learn
4. Proven ability to negotiate land agreements and manage stakeholder relationships
5. Strong project management and organisational skills
