Overview

REPORTS TO: Chief Accountant

SUPERVISES: N/A

STATUS: Exempt

SCHEDULE: Full-time, normally 8:30 – 4:00, Monday – Friday, and as needed

FUNCTION: This position is responsible for budget preparation, general forecasting, maintenance of the accounting system, preparation and analysis of monthly finance reports, the general oversight of area finances, and to ensure compliance with policy, contracts, and grants. Position requires responsibility to maintain the financial integrity of The Salvation Army Cincinnati Area Services.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Business Administration or equivalent experience.
  • Prefer a minimum of 3 years’ experience with grants and contracts in a non-profit environment.
  • Experience with accounting software is a must; Serenic system experience is a plus.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with solid Excel experience and capabilities.
  • Experience in budget preparation and finance data analysis.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and organized.
  • Must have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Must maintain a high level of confidentiality.
