AWS Global Sales (AGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers, including the public sector in India.
This job opening is for a Solutions Architect role within the Public Sector team of AWS, India. We work with central government ministries, state and local governments, public sector units, educational institutions, EdTechs, nonprofits, and healthcare. Our vision is to help public institutions in India to make a significant impact on the lives of citizens by taking a technology generation leap through the use of AWS cloud services within the domains of Skilling, Smart Infrastructure, Healthcare, and Inclusion (Physical, Digital, and Financial).
As a Solutions Architect, you will provide a consistent approach for customers and partners to evaluate architectures and implement designs that will scale over time based on five pillars of the AWS Well-Architected Framework — operational excellence, security, reliability, performance efficiency, and cost optimization. You will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to build mind share and broad use of Amazon's services (like Amazon Bedrock, Amazon Q, Amazon SageMaker, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon S3, Amazon EC2, and Amazon SQS, etc.) within strategic accounts in the Public Sector space.
Your broad responsibilities will include owning the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects, and developing a deep expertise in AWS technologies as well as broad know-how around how applications and services are constructed using the AWS platform.
The ideal candidate will possess customer-facing skills that will allow them to represent Amazon well within a customer's environment and drive discussions with senior personnel within the company, as well as a technical background that enables them to easily interact and give guidance to software developers and architects. They should also have a demonstrated ability to think structurally about business, product, and technical challenges in the context of the segment.

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers, including the public sector.
- 10+ years of experience in architecting solutions/Presales in leading OEM
- Extensive experience in infrastructure or software architecture, with knowledge in associated technology areas such as databases and networking.
- Experience in pre-sales engineering or solutions architecture for technology/software sales
- Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations.
- Graduation/Technical degree required, Computer Science highly desired; working knowledge of software development practices and technologies highly desired
- AWS Certification, e.g., AWS Solutions Architect Associate
- Experience with software/technology in a customer-facing role
- Experience with “on-premise to cloud” migrations or IT transformations
- Experience architecting/operating solutions built on AWS
