Management Accountant / Financial Controller

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Management Accountant/Financial Controller to join a dynamic team. This role is integral to the financial operations of the business, ensuring accurate reporting, budget management, and supporting the wider team with financial insights.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Preparation and analysis of monthly management accounts, including variance reporting.
2. Production of audit files and liaising with auditors for timely completion of accounts.
3. Managing cash flow and ensuring financial stability.
4. Supporting and covering payroll and third-party wage processing as required.
5. Collaborating with managers to update and reconcile costings, budgets, and reports.
6. Managing bank reconciliations, supplier payments, and VAT submissions.
7. Supporting financial decision-making across the business.

Essential Skills & Experience:

1. Qualified Accountant with a minimum of 3 years' experience in management accounts and payroll.
2. Strong IT skills, particularly advanced Microsoft Excel.
3. Experience working under pressure and meeting critical deadlines.
4. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively.
5. Self-motivated and able to work independently.

Desirable Skills:

1. Experience with Opera accounting software.
2. Knowledge of running large payrolls.
3. Commercial awareness and experience in a fast-paced business environment.
