Our Building Services division provides complete Facilities Management of properties throughout the UK, providing mechanical and electrical engineering support, cleaning, catering and grounds maintenance on a planned and reactive basis, using technological solutions to manage our teams in the most efficient ways.

We are looking for a Mobile Multi-Skilled Engineer to join the Commercial Property Maintenance team on one of our projects in Essex.

The purpose of the role is to carry out M&E Services (Electrical LVAP/Plumbing/Pool Plant Maintenance/HVAC and BMS), Planned Preventative Maintenance and Reactive Works in time to meet strict KPI’s. Ensure all statutory & mandatory compliance maintenance and records/certificates are always kept up to date and in line with the contractual requirements and filed as Skanska Management System. Must have a ‘Can do’ attitude and ability to work under own initiative vital to this role along with a desire to deliver first class engineering and client satisfaction.

What you’ll do:

  • Ability to work in a fast-changing environment and be self-motivated to deliver first class engineering to a wide range of mechanical plant, including but not limited to Plate Heat Exchangers, Pressurization Systems, Control systems, motors, pumps, generators, CHP, FCU’s, AHU’s, drainage, toilets, plumbing and heating systems. Good ability for fault-finding and plant adjustments to ensure unnecessary waste of utilities.
  • To work safely on ELV/LV and generated electrical systems in accordance with all statutory electrical regulations and health and safety legislation and regulations as appointed Authorising Engineer.
  • Good Knowledge of Building Services and Water Regulations.
  • Good Knowledge of Health and Safety and CoSHH.
  • Key relationships are with clients’ representatives, end users and all members of the Skanska Facilities team.
  • Any other duties as reasonably requested by senior management team.
  • To participate in and deliver interactive Toolbox Talks / GSSD’s.
  • Good knowledge of using IT Equipment including Data Networks.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Experience of building services in an education environment including mechanical, electrical distribution and HVAC systems.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or Maintenance, or equivalent City & Guilds qualifications, along with the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations and an ECS card.
  • Low Voltage Authorised Persons AP12 Certification.
  • IOSH Managing Safely and IOSH Modern CoSHH.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Building Maintenance.
  • BMS / Pool plant experience and CAFM Systems (Mobiess).
