Learning and Development Officer

Cardiff/Llandudno Junction (Hybrid Working)

The Organisation

Our client provides leadership and expertise in welfare and early years in Wales. Their vision is to make a positive difference to support for children, adults, and their families and carers.

To achieve this, they lead on developing and regulating the workforce, service improvement, and data and research to improve support. Through their quality assurance work, they support educators in both education and practice settings, ensuring the highest level of training for the next generation of workers.

They are now looking for a Learning and Development Officer to join them on a 12-month fixed-term contract, with full-time hours of 36 hours per week available and flexibility considered.

You must be based in the UK to apply for this role and be able to visit one of the stated offices when required.

The Role

As a Learning and Development Officer, you will lead on externally facing Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) focused projects to promote anti-discriminatory practice across welfare and early years in Wales.

Specifically, you will engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including those with lived experience, to inform and develop inclusive training and resources aligned with Welsh Government priorities.

You will also promote anti-discriminatory practice, deliver training, and ensure that learning and improvement needs are met through tailored projects, while contributing to work supporting international workers and tackling modern slavery.

About You

To be considered as a Learning and Development Officer, you will need:

  1. Experience of delivering impactful training to a variety of audiences
  2. Experience of providing high-level support to projects within the sector
  3. Experience of engaging and communicating with stakeholders
  4. Knowledge and understanding of current anti-discriminatory legislation and policy in Wales
  5. The ability to produce written reports, documentation and promotional information suitable for a range of audiences

The closing date for this role is 30 April 2025. The interviews will be face-to-face on the 13 May in Llandudno and 15 May in Cardiff.
