The Role

As a Solution Architect at Envitia, you will play a key role in designing and delivering data-oriented solutions for our clients, leveraging both our internal product suite and commercially available technologies. Sitting within our consulting division, you will own solution delivery while also driving the development of our internal capability framework—shaping new frameworks, methodologies, and concept demonstrators.

In addition to solution ownership, you will support Envitia’s pre-sales efforts, defining technical approaches, estimating effort and cost, and maintaining a strong marketplace presence through industry events and conferences. To excel in this role, you will bring experience working with in the Defence or Public Sectors markets.

Job Responsibilities

1. Gather and analyse client requirements, translating them into tailored solutions.
2. Develop technical strategies and advisory artefacts to support organisational change.
3. Lead end-to-end delivery of modern solution architectures across various technologies and platforms.
4. Collaborate with project managers, developers, and stakeholders to ensure successful implementation.
5. Provide technical leadership in solution reviews, ensuring compliance with client and regulatory standards.
6. Contribute to the design of cross-cutting managed services for Envitia and its clients.
7. Monitor emerging technologies and industry trends, assessing their potential market impact.
8. Ensure all solutions align with Envitia’s architecture policies and standards.
9. Develop cost models, risk assessments, and business cases for proposed solutions.

Skills Required

Essential:

1. Strong understanding of Enterprise Architecture frameworks.
2. Experience in requirement elicitation, management, and translation into solution designs.
3. Expertise in major cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, etc.), with relevant certifications preferred.
4. Knowledge of legacy and modern technology stacks.
5. Hands-on experience with event-driven architectures, microservices, and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
6. Experience integrating Azure and AWS native applications with COTS solutions.
7. Experience working with Defence or Central Government clients.
8. Experience leading solution development in pre-sales, including proposal writing and client presentations.

Desirable

1. Certifications including TOGAF, Zachman or ArchiMate.

Security Clearance Requirements

The successful candidate must hold or be required to go through an SC security clearance.

Location

The role will require travel to our Horsham offices 2 days a month and travel to customer sites when required.
