We are seeking a highly experienced External Audit Partner specializing in the insurance sector to join a top 10 professional services firm in London. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise in Financial Services, with a primary focus on the insurance industry. This leadership role requires a proactive individual who can enhance client relationships, drive business development, and maintain the highest levels of audit quality and integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships with key stakeholders in the insurance sector, serving as a trusted advisor on audit and regulatory matters.
  • Audit Leadership: Oversee and lead external audit engagements, ensuring compliance with the relevant auditing standards and delivering exceptional service to clients.
  • Team Development: Mentor and develop audit staff and managers, fostering a culture of professionalism, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the insurance market, leveraging industry connections to expand the firm's client base.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate audit findings and recommendations to clients, board members, and regulatory authorities.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Stay abreast of changes in legislation, guidelines, and regulations affecting the insurance industry to advise clients accordingly.
  • Performance Improvement: Drive initiatives to enhance audit processes and efficiency, implementing best practices and innovative solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Director or Partner within a reputable audit firm, specifically in the Financial Services sector, with a strong focus on insurance clients.
  • Extensive knowledge of the insurance industry, including key regulations, risks, and current market trends.
  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with a track record of building and maintaining client relationships.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Proven business development skills with an ability to identify and capitalize on growth opportunities.
