We are seeking an immediately available company secretary with a strong insurance background for a 6-month fixed-term contract. This role is essential in supporting the governance framework, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and facilitating effective board and committee governance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Meeting Coordination & Support:
   • Assist in preparing and distributing agendas, board packs, and governance documentation.
   • Manage logistics for Board and committee meetings, including scheduling and technology setup.
   • Attend meetings to take minutes, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of discussions and decisions.
   • Support governance improvement by building relationships with board members and understanding business operations.
2. Governance & Compliance:
   • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, particularly within the insurance industry.
   • Stay updated on changes in governance legislation and best practices.
3. Documentation & Record Keeping:
   • Maintain accurate records of Board and committee meetings, including minutes, resolutions, and action items.
   • Assist in developing and maintaining governance policies and procedures.
4. Stakeholder Engagement & Project Support:
   • Liaise with Board members, senior management, and external advisors to facilitate effective governance.
   • Provide support on governance-related projects, research, and process improvements.

What We're Looking For:

1. Availability: Immediate start only.
2. Experience: Previous experience in company secretarial or governance roles, within the insurance or financial services sector.
3. Qualifications: ICSA or legal qualification (or working towards it) is desirable.
4. Skills: Strong organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and board portal software.
