IT Support Engineer (UK)

As a member of our Production Team, and one of our IT Support Engineers, you will work with the wider teams and under the direction of the IT Support Manager to ensure that our software solutions and customers receive excellent technical support. The IT Support Engineer will act with reliability, maintain strict confidentiality, adhere to all Company policies and procedures and be a champion of the Company Values at all times.

Location

Headquartered in the North Lincolnshire village of Kirmington, we also have offices in Hull, East Yorkshire and fully support a hybrid working schedule.

Accountabilities

You will play a key role in the following tasks:

1. Work independently and collaboratively to progress service desk tickets via our Jira support system
2. Analyse bespoke application issues and provide solutions
3. Learn and configure new features for our application
4. Proactively identify common customer issues and suggest improvements to the knowledge base
5. Complete basic maintenance tasks for our live servers to maintain optimum performance
6. Check audit logs to troubleshoot and diagnose problems
7. Set up hardware for new starters
8. Support internal staff with IT issues and queries
9. Participate in our Tier 1 Out of Hours Support rotation (additional support pay for on call days)

Experience, Skills and Knowledge

As a successful candidate you will hold a minimum of 3 years experience as an IT Support Engineer and have solid ability to deliver in the following areas:

1. Minimum of 3 years working in an IT Support Engineer role is essential (preferably within a SaaS company)
2. Minimum Level 3 qualification in an IT discipline preferred (or equivalent)
3. Basic understanding and experience of Linux Administration is essential
4. Excellent level of SQL knowledge and experience is essential
5. Experience of Windows OS including Active Directory is essential
6. Experience of using a wide variety of open-source technologies and cloud services (experience with AWS is essential)
7. Ability to learn and implement a high level of technical concepts quickly
8. Autonomy and strong problem-solving skills
9. Excellent customer service skills and telephone manner
10. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Salary and Benefits

Salary £24,000 to £30,000 p.a, depending on experience
