Summer Program Team Member

Under the guidance of our Recreation Coordinator, you'll help bring our recreation program to life - leading games, activities, and events that make every day exciting for the youth in our care. You'll be working as part of a team that supports personal growth, social skills, and self-confidence, all while building your own leadership experience.

Specific Duties

1. Supervises youth assigned to the summer recreation program.
2. Significant involvement in leading activities and interacting with children in the recreation program.
3. Describes appropriate skills or behaviors to youth and provides rationales for why youth should or should not do certain things.
4. Practices appropriate skills with youth to increase a positive environment and role-plays pertinent skills until they are comfortable using them.
5. Provides feedback to youth to ensure skills development.
6. Implements consequences for appropriate or inappropriate behaviors and rewards youth with praise and positive points for practicing and displaying appropriate behavior.
7. Works alongside youth, serving as a role model by exhibiting positive behaviors.
8. Utilizes the Mooseheart Model of Care.
9. Maintains confidentiality of company, student, and staff information, sharing only on a need-to-know basis.

This position will require the employee to be subject to outside environmental conditions occasionally and inside conditions frequently, with protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes.
