Who are we?
The Bikery is a dynamic and forward-thinking charitable company and a part of Gordon Rural Action.
At our repurposed bakery in Huntly, we have retail, training and workshop facilities where we refurbish and maintain bikes, sell them at affordable prices and use the proceeds to overcome barriers to cycling. Our goal is for a future where everyone has the opportunity for cycling and its benefits, via the power of community, bikes and skills. To give access to the support, advice and skills they need to maintain their bike and ride it safely. We support people’s personal development through hands-on work experience and relevant qualifications.
Role Overview:
An interactive, engaging shop-based customer-facing role as the first contact point for The Bikery ensuring our customers, team and community have a great experience of our services, goals and mission. Overseeing all aspects of the shop and its volunteers whilst liaising closely with the workshop, training and wider teams. Communicating and engaging with our customers and community is a vital part of the role via marketing, social media, website and events. A dynamic, varied and rewarding position where your experience, ideas and learning will help us grow our sustainable community with bikes and skills.
Who You Are:
Have an affinity for all things cycling, community and retail. Wonderful customer service, communication and organisational skills. You are hands-on, team orientated and happy to pitch in.
A competence in bike maintenance, retail and supervisor/team leading or management experience would be advantageous.
Be able to move and lift bulky items and bikes and tolerate a potentially low temperature environment.
You will need a satisfactory disclosure check.
Key responsibilities:
If you would like to apply for the role or require any more information, please contact hello@thebikery.org.uk for an application form. Closing date 09:00 21 st April 2025
