diversity, equity & inclusion
wherever we do business. We employ thousands of Twilions worldwide, and we're looking for more builders, creators, and innovators to help fuel our growth momentum.

About the job

This position will focus on the continued accelerated growth of Twilio’s business across EMEA. In the last 3 years we have experienced 10x growth across the team and the business in EMEA and the aim is to continue that trajectory into 2022 and beyond. Ideally, the candidate will have scaled a business to $1B across EMEA and understand the steps required to maintain our trajectory to that goal.
The desired leader will be a key figurehead for Twilio in EMEA and while having direct control of the sales team, they will be responsible for the Go To Market (GTM) team in the Region and the GM and P&L owner. They will be goaled on achieving the overall revenue targets for the Region but also have the responsibility for overall Employee Satisfaction across the Region and for growing our brand across EMEA as we enter new markets.
You are a leader who believes deeply in building inclusive and anti-racist environments, allowing employees from all backgrounds to contribute, grow, and prosper. As a senior leader in EMEA, you must be a visible advocate and champion for our values, the Twilio Magic, helping build Twilio’s brand as an inclusive and diverse employer both internally and within the communities of our hubs in EMEA. You must believe that a diverse team, from the top down, allows all employees to achieve their full potential and as a result will allow Twilio to reach our goals, collectively.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, drive, and communicate our sales and GTM strategy, results and opportunities to peers and senior executives.
  2. Recruit, motivate and retain a world-class sales team, providing career development and performance management, to deliver the sales number and revenue growth targets.
  3. Ensure we improve/maintain the Employee Effectiveness survey results across the EMEA GTM organization by focusing on people.
  4. Lead a cross-functional GTM leadership team with colleagues from partners, services, sales ops, marketing, support and more.
  5. Collaborate with your team, as well as partner with other internal sales, marketing and product teams, to support global sales opportunities.
  6. Play an active role in sales activities and help close the Region’s largest opportunities.
  7. Work closely with strategic customers and customer success teams to ensure post-sales teams drive adoption and success through ongoing delivery and support, to ensure we reduce/eliminate customer churn.
  8. Identify and drive internal operational efficiencies by building a solid operating cadence and team/individual focus around the pipeline, forecasting, deal review, sales execution, deployment, and revenue realization.
  9. Run a disciplined forecast, consistently overachieve on KPIs/goals, and present guidance to executive management.
  10. Demonstrate cultural awareness to assess situations where language, culture and or demographics impact the environment.

Required:

  1. 12 years’ experience driving high-reaching sales and GTM results selling innovative technology solutions.
  2. Strong functional expertise in sales and sales management with a minimum of 8 years experience leading high-performing software sales and GTM teams.
  3. Experience developing customer-focused sales strategies that cut across all GTM functions, as well as influence and inform product development.
  4. Experience of operating in a fast-paced environment, at significant scale.
  5. Proven track record of building and leading impactful sales teams, including overlay specialist teams, that consistently exceed targets.
  6. Comfortable setting priorities, leading forecasting, and able to support fiscal planning and revenue tracking for a fast-growing business.
  7. The ability to build positive relationships with business and technical leaders, as well as influence their thinking and understanding.

DESIRED:

  1. Experience working in the Telco related industry would be a plus.
  2. While outstanding sales leadership skills are crucial, first-hand experience leading other GTM functions would also be beneficial.
  3. International/pan-EMEA experience would be preferred.

Qualifications

Not all applicants will have skills that match a job description exactly. Twilio values diverse experiences in other industries, and we encourage everyone who meets the required qualifications to apply. While having “desired” qualifications make for a strong candidate, we encourage applicants with alternative experiences to also apply. If your career is just starting or hasn't followed a traditional path, don't let that stop you from considering Twilio. We are always looking for people who will bring something new to the table!

Location

This role will ideally be based out of our London office, but we are open to candidates located in Paris or Munich. Approximately 40% travel is anticipated.
You will also get to experience a company that believes in small teams for maximum impact; seeks well-rounded talent to ensure a full perspective on our customers’ experience, understands that this is a marathon, not a sprint; that continuously and purposefully builds an inclusive culture where everyone is able to do and be the best version of themselves.
