Job description

Sessional Tutor – ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages)

We are seeking to appoint enthusiastic, creative, and highly motivated tutors for our ESOL provision. We are looking for tutors who are keen to work with all levels of learners and can create engaging and interactive lessons.

Our vision at Cambridgeshire Skills is to provide learning to improve skills and confidence and to help individuals take opportunities to play a positive role in the county’s economy and communities.

The opportunities we have available are on a casual basis. We offer a competitive hourly rate and as part of our pay structure, we also pay for planning and preparation time at ½ hour per hour of teaching. Attendance at meetings and mandatory CPD or training events are also paid.

You will join a supportive, friendly, and welcoming team who work collaboratively across the organisation to provide high-quality learning to all of our learners.

This role will be based in Cambridgeshire and will include face-to-face and online delivery. The successful candidates will be required to work at a range of delivery locations in the county including Cambridge, Ely, and Huntingdon with occasional evening classes.

About you

You will be a highly motivated and skilled ESOL tutor who is flexible in your work approach. You will be able to engage well with learners and think of new approaches and ideas to motivate our learners. You will be able to work independently but also as part of a wider team and be willing to share ideas and resources with your colleagues.

Benefits
  • A comprehensive wellbeing package to cover all aspects of wellbeing, both in and out of work, which can also be accessed by your family
  • Buy up to 4 weeks additional annual leave (pro-rata) through our salary sacrifice scheme
  • Take your bank holidays flexibly to better suit your personal circumstances
  • Make Additional Voluntary Contributions (Shared AVCs) to your pension with tax and National Insurance savings
  • Access to development opportunities, apprenticeships and qualified coaches to support your personal and professional growth
  • Paid volunteering hours each year so you can make a positive impact on our community during your normal working day
  • Access to Peer Support Groups through our IDEAL staff equality, diversity and inclusion network
  • Opportunities to nominate and receive Employee Recognition Awards
  • An Our Cambs Rewards account, giving you access to in-store and online discounts as well as our Car Lease and Cycle to Work schemes
