The Role
We are seeking a skilled and creative social care professional to work as a Policy and Strategy Development Officer in our Strategy, Policy, Development and Engagement Team, within the Adult Social Services and Housing Directorate.
As a Policy, Strategy and Development officer, you will work as part of a small and dynamic team under the supervision of the Principal Social Worker and Principal Occupational Therapist and in close partnership with a dedicated Participation and Engagement Officer.
You will be responsible for:
Our team plays a key role in promoting excellent practice in Adult Social Services, with a particular focus on our main professions, Social Work and Occupational Therapy.
You will work in close partnership with professionals across the Adult Social Services and Housing directorate, the wider Council, health, and the voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise sector (VCFSE).
You will use your creativity and communication skills to lead on the development and delivery of multi-agency strategies with the guidance of senior managers. You will be confident in navigating and building relationships across complex health and social care systems.
You will be passionate about making a difference in adult social care. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a strong commitment to the values and approaches outlined in our Adult Social Care Practice Framework.
This position is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
Work Style
