The Role

As a Trainee Accountant, you will work alongside our Management Accountant in preparing and maintaining PLC and subsidiary accounts. This is an excellent opportunity for an AAT qualified individual or recent graduate to develop their accounting career in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the preparation of monthly management accounts, including accruals and prepayments
• Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and control accounts
• Assist in preparing statutory accounts and audit support files
• Support tax compliance and treasury operations
• Manage purchase, sales, and general ledger maintenance
• Contribute to environmental reporting and sustainability initiatives

Essential Requirements

• AAT Qualified or Degree level education
• Excellent MS Excel skills
• Prior experience in a finance environment
• Strong problem-solving capabilities and analytical skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities
• Proactive approach with strong communication skills

Desirable Skills

• Basic accounts preparation experience
• Experience with Business Central or similar accounting software
• Understanding of sales, purchase, and general ledger
