We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Distribution Network Designer at Perth Office CBD on a Permanent Full-Time basis.
About this roleAs the Senior Distribution Network Designer, you will be required to perform and/or highly complex technical tasks associated with design of Western Power Distribution Network. To undertake complex investigations and co-ordinate process improvement through demonstrated technical leadership. You will also be required to:
People

Scheduling
- Schedule or plan own daily and weekly allocated work in order to meet targets
- Provide support to project management plans
- Make the best use of assigned resources to meet planned outputs
- Provide technical support across other work groups
- Assist and provide support for Front Line employees
Technical
- Identify opportunities for performance improvement
- Co-ordinate the implementation of continuous improvements processes
- Follow defined business processes
- Document variations to procedures, programmes and processes
- Comply with all legal and contracting requirements
- Prepare and/or check estimates for projects encompassing materials, labour, sub-contract services and costing for work associated with construction activities and commissioning on complex circuits and associated apparatus or services.
- Complete all documentation, entering and maintaining information in applicable computer systems.
- Undertake a significant degree of contract administration to ensure contractor compliance to specification and identify non-conformances of contractors. This will include reviewing designs, work performance, works programs and preparing reports for submission to the Team Leader.
- Respond to customer correspondence and answer questions from the general public, various govt. departments and industry.
About youWe are seeking someone with experience and attributes that include:
- Must possess Advanced Diploma in a relevant electrical discipline
- At least 9 + years’ post qualification extensive experience in distribution network related activities with a thorough knowledge of principles of the relevant discipline and a sound understanding of the methods and practices
- Sound knowledge of Safety policies and procedures is essential.
- General knowledge of project, contract and works management systems and tools is necessary.
- A sound knowledge of Distribution Engineering standards, regulations, and procedures applicable to the Section and Stream is essential.
- Proficiency in appropriate key computer systems & application, including: Ellipse, DQM, DOCS/DMS, Spida, DFMS, and business/drafting software (MS Office - Word, Excel & or Access, and scheduling/work management software).
- Sound communication, influencing and problem-solving skills
