An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Shift Lead/Senior Carer to join their team in Northampton. This role involves managing a team to provide exceptional care for residents, ensuring their health and well-being while fostering a supportive environment. We have an opportunity within Obelisk House, which provides exceptional levels of support to older persons living with Dementia, Physical disabilities or /and Sensory impairments.

Our customers (Residents) are at the heart of what we do. You will receive continuous training and support assistance. Most of your team will have grown organically within WNC. A rare natural enjoyment for their role and the support they offer to our customers.
You will work closely alongside the management and support team, with the day-to-day running of the shifts.
To manage a team of staff and take responsibility for their induction training, continuous development, and performance to ensure effective and efficient use of this resource in accordance with the policy and objectives for this service.
Prioritising and directing the workload to team members accordingly, ensuring any issues are dealt with as they arise and the health, safety, and welfare of customers and employees are responded to.
Assist the management team by providing and recording information to help amend and update care plans so that changes in customers’ needs can be supported appropriately.
Order, monitor, and administer medication to customers, ensuring prescribed drugs are used appropriately and safely.
You will provide practical, personal and emotional care and support to WNC customers who may have a range of different health and social care needs.
You will support the customer to maintain or develop social networks and interests, where required organizing and/or participating in activities of the customer’s choice. To always be mindful of treating customers with kindness, respect, and compassion, that helps foster a feeling of happiness and contentment for customers in their home or place they visit.
Awareness of sensitivity and discretion in all verbal and written information (Data Protection).
Demonstrate awareness/understanding of equal opportunities and other people’s behavioral, physical, social, and welfare needs.
12 or 8-hour shifts are available with a mix of earlies and lates, with alternate weekend working.
You may be a senior carer that has stepped in to assist your manager and looking for the next permanent move or a current Shift lead wishing to gain more experience to develop yourself for your future.
With your previous experience in care leadership and NVQ Level 2 qualification in Health & Social Care (ideal), you'll join our team in making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.
To contribute, as a senior member of staff, to the overall management and development of service provision in a given geographical area, planning for the future development of services to meet the needs of customers from diverse cultural communities.
To contribute to the process of annual resource requirements reviews, monitoring budgets and planning budget needs for the future to determine where customer needs can be met within budget restraints.
To actively promote a customer voice in the provision of the service, including the encouragement of self and citizen advocacy.
Demonstrate awareness/understanding of equal opportunities and other people’s behavioral, physical, social, and welfare needs.
We will offer 2.5 weeks induction training and a further 2-4 weeks "Buddy scheme" too. We will settle you in, there's no pressure to "hit the ground running"!
You will understand the Quality Commission (CQC) and have good knowledge in all relevant legislation and regulations. Your role will involve ensuring that the home provides high-quality care and support to residents.
This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore subject to an enhanced DBS certificate, at our cost.
