At Ortho Europe, we are a leading manufacturer and distributor of prosthetic, orthotic, and seating products. For years, we've been committed to promoting independence and enhancing the quality of life for thousands of individuals in need of mobility support. Now, we're looking for a dedicated Warehouse Operative to join our experienced team in Abingdon and play a crucial role in our mission.

Job Role Summary

The role: As a Warehouse Operative, you'll be at the heart of our operations, ensuring the smooth running of our warehouse. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Handling, inspecting, and receipting deliveries: You'll be the first point of contact for incoming shipments, ensuring they meet our quality standards.
  • Updating receipts on a computer-based system: Accuracy is key as you record and track all incoming inventory.
  • Picking customer orders: Fulfilling customer orders with precision and care.
  • Packing and dispatching national and international customer orders: Safely packaging products for shipment to our customers around the world. Ensuring all documentation is accurately completed: Keeping detailed records of all warehouse activities.
  • Stock taking: Conducting regular stock checks to maintain accurate inventory levels.

Skills and Experience

To excel in this role, you'll need:

  • Good written and verbal communication skills: Clear communication is essential for collaborating with team members and updating records.
  • Ability to use own initiative and seek advice when required: Demonstrating independence while knowing when to ask for guidance.
  • Excellent attention to detail: Ensuring accuracy in all aspects of your work.
  • Positive and helpful attitude at all times: Maintaining a can-do attitude even in challenging situations.
  • Good team player: Working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve shared goals.
  • Competent IT skills: Comfortable using computer-based systems for data entry and record keeping.
  • Good organizational skills: Managing tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated: Taking initiative and staying focused on tasks without constant supervision.

Warehouse experience is preferred but not essential as training will be given.
