Job description

My Client is a leading provider of support packages to young people leaving the care system in the Bradford and Leeds area.

I am recruiting for both a Senior and a Residential Support Worker for permanent positions, both full time.

SENIOR – £33,906 per annum

Residential Support Worker – £31,078

Essential Criteria

  1. Must have experience supporting young people in a residential setting.

Preferred Criteria

  1. NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People or Health and Social Care.
  2. Driving License.

Semester Recruitment specializes in supporting young people ages 5-18 in supported living, semi-independent accommodation, and children’s residential homes.

We are currently looking for Support and Youth Workers to provide ongoing support to Care Leavers in the area.

Great flexibility with shifts and the rotas.

Shifts are 24-hour sleepovers and the rota is as follows:

Week 1: Monday/Wednesday/Saturday

Week 2: Tuesday/Friday/Sunday

Week 3: Thursday

This position involves supporting Care Leavers aged between 15-18, helping to increase their independence skills.

It is essential that you have experience of working within a similar setting and preferably have completed NVQ3 in Children & Young People Workforce or a similar qualification within this sector.

Qualifications/Requirements

  1. High standard of general education.
  2. NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care – Children and Young People (CCYP) or equivalent.
  3. Willingness to undertake further training.
  4. Current full driving licence with business insurance preferable.

Job Purpose

To be responsible for the provision of support for vulnerable people (service users) for the company.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  1. To assist the young person's allocated Social Worker in the delivery of the service.
  2. Provide transport/escort to the young person as directed in line with care plans.
  3. Conduct welcome and induction for young people.
  4. Ongoing assessments of service users’ needs.
  5. Provide ongoing support and monitoring of service users.
  6. Assist in welfare and NHS issues.
  7. Preparation of reports.
  8. Arrange appointments with various partner agencies.
  9. Maintaining regular contact with young people.
  10. Informing customers of support groups.
  11. Assist move-on of service users.

Some shifts may also be 24 hours (sleepovers). Great flexibility, and 2-3 days a week would constitute full-time hours. Excellent company with a great unit.
