We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality. We know diverse minds, experiences and backgrounds help us to learn and better serve our customers and the communities where they live.

If you want to do more because you care, we’d love to talk to you. There really is something for everyone here.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

Our Network Control team have an opportunity for you to join as our new Flood Test Operative.

In this role, you will be responsible for the delivery of the potable tank flood testing programme and having a food factory mentality whilst doing so to show care for colleagues, customers, suppliers, and the environment by monitoring and maintaining compliance with relevant Health and Safety, Environmental, Quality, and Water Hygiene requirements.

You will have the curiosity to drive continuous improvement and influence a positive culture and to take pride in making sure we complete flood tests to the required standard, highlighting all possible water quality risks to ensure that all potable tanks (DSRs and process tanks) receive the same level of care regardless of their purpose, size, or location and to capture accurate and timely assurance data to allow for accurate asset condition grading and investment planning.

Some Of Your Other Key Accountabilities Will Include
  • Work with the Potable Tank Assurance Specialist and local Treatment Teams to deliver the annual flood testing programme.
  • Ensure flood testing is carried out safely to minimise risk to colleagues and other personnel on site.
  • Safeguard the environment whilst carrying out flood tests by ensuring that drainage of water will not cause damage to our assets, customer property, or breach of environmental regulation.
  • Proactively identify gaps or blockers which could delay the programme and find solutions to these problems.
  • Seek out innovations, both in terms of new products and new processes, to drive efficiency within the programme and further improve our water quality resilience.
  • Ensure health and safety standards are maintained at all times.
  • Co-ordinate and engage with internal and external stakeholders and customers.
What You’ll Bring To The Role

We’re seeking our new Flood Test Operative to be comfortable carrying out flood tests of potable tanks as part of the annual inspection programme.

To be successful, it’s expected that you’ll have knowledge of working on Potable Water tanks, suitable health, safety, environmental qualifications, hold a Water hygiene blue card, and be physically fit and able to undertake manual handling in enclosed area entry duties.

Additionally, you’ll have an understanding of the water and distribution systems and processes and water quality sampling methods.

As travel is required, you’ll also be required to hold a full UK driving licence.

The right skills and experience are important. But if you have the right character, positivity, and a caring attitude we want to talk to you too.
