About the Role - Chief Flight Instructor

What you’ll do:

• The supervision of flight and flight simulation training instructors
• The standardisation of all flight instruction and flight simulation instruction
• The maintenance of the highest standards of safety, under the direction of the HT and DHT
• Maintenance of the currency of personal licenses and ratings, including medical fitness in order to conduct your assigned duties. In particular for ensuring that any approvals granted by the Authority are valid before conducting any training which require you to exercise the privileges of that approval
• Advising the HT and DHT on all flying training matters as required
• The preparation of all simulator course syllabi to comply with UK CAA Air Crew Regulations
• Monitoring the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in use and for recommending revisions to SOPs to the DHT as necessary
• Preparation of Flight Test schedules as required
• Liaison with the Head of Operations, Safety & Compliance on matters concerning the Compliance Schedule

What you’ll bring to BA Cityflyer:

You’ll have a sound track record of managing your time and have excellent people skills. Previous management experience is desirable but not essential. This is an ATO nominated post-holder position.

Your experience:

You’ll need to hold a valid UK CAA ATPL and a TRI/SFI. You’ll need a minimum of 2000 hours PIC on multi-crew aeroplanes and be an experienced FSTD instructor.

At least 500 of these hours should be on flying instructional duties related to the flying courses provided, of which 200 hours may be instrument ground time.
