My client is a leading global company in the HV grid transformer and battery energy storage (BESS) sectors. Their team is dedicated to upholding the highest standards, fostering innovation, and ensuring safety across all operations.
They are seeking an experienced HSE Manager to join their UK business. In this role, you will take on full responsibility for managing and reporting Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) compliance across our UK operations. You will work directly with department heads to establish effective processes, governance, and training, ensuring our company policies align with UK and international standards.
HSEQ Compliance:
Lead H&S, Environmental, and Quality policy management, overseeing compliance across the UK Branch, including internal audits.
Process Implementation:
Collaborate with department heads to implement robust HSEQ processes and governance structures.
Incident Investigation:
Lead H&S incident investigations, identify required corrective actions and manage follow-up on corrective measures.
Policy Advisory:
Keep management informed on relevant HSEQ policy updates and legislative changes, providing strategic advice.
Continuous Improvement:
Drive HSEQ improvement programs to ensure the achievement of organizational targets.
Employee Support:
Offer guidance and support on HSEQ-related issues, ensuring employees have the resources and knowledge needed for safe practices.
Training & Competency:
Work with department leads to establish and maintain training programs and competency records.
Legislative Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all relevant H&S and Environmental legislation.
Education:
Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant field.
Certifications:
Professional qualifications in NEBOSH and IOSH.
Experience:
5-10 years in an H&S (or HSEQ) role within engineering or construction, with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience required.
Industry Knowledge:
Familiarity with grid transformers, HV equipment, and the BESS industry is beneficial but not essential.
