The role

We are looking for a maternity cover for our fantastic Data Lead to take responsibility for our entire data estate for approximately 6 months from mid-April 2025.

Working as part of our exceptional founding team, and closely with our customers, you’ll be working on important data-powered product features whilst ensuring the reliable operation of our data pipelines from source to app.

We run a very modern stack and aren’t afraid to change what’s not working. Some of the things we’re currently using include GCP (BigQuery, Cloud Run Functions, Cloud SQL Postgres, GCE), dbt, Airbyte, Dagster, docker, Grafana, Cube (https://cube.dev/), Python, Terraform and Typescript.

Responsibilities include

• Working collaboratively on the end-to-end development of data-powered product features
• Participating in product development, feature design and ideation
• Ensuring agility and flexibility whilst shaping the technical evolution of our platform
• Troubleshooting both data and system issues
• Ensuring the reliable operation of our data pipelines and accuracy data to meet our SLOs
• Analysis of source data to support product feature development
• Continual research and evaluation of the best available 3rd party tools to integrate into our stack

What we are looking for

• Mastery of SQL and dbt
• Solid GCP expertise
• Strong Python skills. Your code is clean, readable, well tested and well structured.
• An analytical approach with high attention to detail
• Experience integrating with third-party APIs
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Driven and motivated to improve everything during your time at Insitu, we encourage change and constant improvement across everything we do

Nice-to-have skills

• Experience with any of the following:
• Airbyte
• Cube
• Terraform
• Grafana
• Experience in development of B2B SaaS products
• Experience working with performance marketing teams
