Conflicts Manager

An international law firm is looking for a Conflicts Manager to join their Risk & Compliance team in London.

The Conflicts Manager will provide subject matter expertise and will be responsible for managing conflict escalations, working closely with the COLP and Conflicts team and overseeing the conflicts process.

Key Responsibilities for the Conflicts Manager role:

• Act as an escalation point for legal conflicts across the firm, identifying and recommending resolutions while escalating high-risk issues to the COLP as needed.
• Ensure conflicts requests are handled accurately and in compliance with firm policies.
• Review and refine conflicts-checking processes to improve efficiency and compliance.
• Assist the COLP in drafting and implementing conflicts-related policies, particularly for lateral hires and firm expansion initiatives.
• Stay informed on legislation and regulatory changes related to conflicts management, ensuring firm-wide compliance.
• Support HR and Business Operations teams with conflicts-related queries for lateral hires.
• Build relationships with key stakeholders to provide timely and effective conflicts advice.
• Work collaboratively with AML Managers on relevant risk and compliance matters.
• Develop and lead training sessions for the Conflicts team on conflicts management, new business intake, and client onboarding procedures.
• Lead, manage, and develop the Conflicts Analyst team.
• Act as a mentor and role model within the wider Risk & Compliance department.

Skills & Experience:

• Experience in advising on conflicts and regulatory matters, preferably within an international law firm.
• Strong experience with Intapp is essential.
• Understanding of regulatory issues affecting law firms, particularly the SRA Code of Conduct.
