Position:

The Paralegal will assist our in-house Legal team with a broad range of legal matters, predominantly of a real estate nature, including acquisitions, disposals and leases, but extending to a broader range of matters including planning, construction, corporate, finance, litigation, and commercial contracts. The Paralegal will support Legal Counsel in assessing, analysing and reporting on panel firm management data and assist Legal Counsel in the management of legal team systems and processes and general administration. The Paralegal will support our Senior Legal Counsel in the preparation and maintenance of our legal precedents, horizon scanning and delivery of legal training to our operational teams.


Requirements:

Provide legal support and advice on real estate, construction, corporate and finance transactions. This will include:

  1. Reviewing and commenting on real estate contracts, including sale and purchase agreements, development agreements and leases;
  2. Undertaking due diligence, such as reviewing property legal titles, conducting Land Registry searches, and reviewing planning reports and agreements;
  3. Undertaking contract summary reviews ahead of document execution;
  4. Ensuring all documentation is executed and completed in compliance with Harworth’s document execution policy and UK property laws.

Provide legal support and advice on litigation matters, including oversight of disclosure, organising evidence, reviewing and commenting on instructions to counsel, pleadings and statements.

Undertake periodic reviews of our legal precedents and, where appropriate, propose amendments to the same.

Coordinate and contribute to our ongoing legal horizon scanning regime. This will require keeping up to date with changes in real estate and planning legislation, and milestone real estate and planning case law.

Support Legal Counsel in assessing, analysing and reporting on panel firm management data and assist Legal Counsel in the management of legal team systems and processes and general administration.

Support the Senior Legal Counsel in the organisation and delivery of the programme of legal training to our operational teams.
