Company/ Role Overview

The DRVN Automotive Group are looking for an experienced Automotive / Motorsport Senior Buyer with a deep understanding of the industry to join our procurement team. The Senior Buyer will play a critical role in sourcing, negotiating, and managing the supply chain, exclusively for the iconic racing team - Alan Mann Racing.

Alan Mann Racing (AMR) are an integral part of the DRVN Automotive Group - and is the place where the period correct, historic continuation builds of some of Ford Motor Company's most significant race icons of the past are being brought back into being, starting with the 1968 Championship winning Alan Mann Racing Mk1 Escort, and followed by a suite of dream vehicles from AMR & Ford's storied race history.

This is a unique role and opportunity - and as such requires a dedicated individual with a passion for motorsport, exceptional procurement and program management skills, able to manage all the procurement activities required to deliver these amazing products.

The role will be co-located - with part of the week being on-site at the DRVN Advanced Engineering HQ in Coventry, and part of the week being on site with the team at Alan Mann Racing, in Surrey. Time spent out with suppliers as required will also be an expectation - hence ideally it is suited to someone that is located around the Oxford / Bucks area to make the Coventry / Woking travel relatively equidistant.

Responsibilities

  1. Purchase goods, materials, components, in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets for Road / Race cars
  2. Responsible for the management of Supplier Relationships
  3. Managing the procurement and expediting of parts
  4. Raise purchase orders as required across the group
  5. Support in the implementation of any ECRs
  6. Negotiation and implementation of Service Level Agreements with key suppliers
  7. Work on initiatives to improve supplier relationships and identify best value for money practices, VAVE projects
  8. Develop current and future strategies with key Stakeholders to optimise costs
  9. Any other Ad hoc purchasing/supply chain requests

Essential Skills

  1. Procurement experience within Automotive / Motorsport
  2. Commercial awareness of the Global market and ability to follow market trends
  3. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with all Key Stakeholders
  4. Strong verbal and written communication skills
  5. Decisive and pro-active individual, with a positive can-do attitude
  6. IT literate - Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (Ideally Office 365)
  7. MRP/ERP system experience
  8. Clean Driving Licence - Must be willing to travel
  9. Must have IDLR/Full Rights to Work in UK - Sponsorship or Work Permits will not be accepted/ provided.

Desirable Skills

  1. CIPS Degree Qualified
