The Role

We are looking to recruit a Business Development Coordinator to support business development initiatives across the organisation. This newly-created role offers an exciting opportunity to support and refine our Business Development activities to drive business growth.

The Business Development Coordinator will:

  1. Support the development of new business, including managing relevant portals to scan for new requests for proposals;
  2. Identify and analyse opportunities for suitability;
  3. Project-manage the bid writing and proposal processes;
  4. Liaise with key stakeholders across the business to gather necessary input.

Skills and Experience

You will have at least 3 years of work experience in Business Development or a related field (e.g. fundraising or partnerships). It is essential that you can demonstrate experience of and an interest in the wider environmental and conservation finance sector in your application.

Specific skills, competencies and experience that we are looking for include:

  • Well-developed analytical and research skills;
  • Proficient writing capability and presentation skills;
  • Excellent project management skills;
  • A well-developed commercial mindset;
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills;
  • Well-developed communication skills;
  • A track record of pitching new business offerings that resulted in short-term and/or long-term business wins;
  • Proven ability to exceed revenue targets and secure long-term contracts;
  • Extensive experience in identifying, managing and growing client relationships;
  • Account-Based Marketing (ABM) expertise, with a focus on driving lead generation and new business development;
  • CRM Sales & Marketing adeptness;
  • Experience in developing business development strategies, integrating traditional methods with Thought Leadership and event planning to generate leads;
  • Advanced IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.

We do not expect candidates to possess all these skills and competencies; most importantly, what we are looking for is someone who can creatively show how their skills and experience could be adapted to fit this profile, if/where there are gaps. Business Development experience, especially developing high-quality bids and proposals with evidence of winning new business in past roles, is essential.

Opportunity to earn up to £38,400 - £41,700

  • Base salary of £34,000 – £37,000 (GBP) per annum based on experience;
  • Up to 10% of salary discretionary annual bonus and discretionary Christmas bonus of up to £1,000;
  • Opportunity to become a shareholder after 12 months with a potential dividend allowance;
  • 25 days holiday plus 2-3 days free at Christmas (plus English bank holidays);
  • Generous training budgets with learning and continuous improvement as a critical element of the way we work;
  • Private medical insurance, group life insurance, and 3% pension contribution;
  • Monthly team socials.
