HGV Class 1 Driver (Removals)

Location: Croydon and London areas
Salary: £30,000 per annum

Job Overview:
Our client is looking for a responsible and dedicated individual to join the removals team. As an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will be required to transport goods safely and efficiently, as well as assist with manual handling tasks, including lifting and moving furniture and personal belongings. This role demands commitment, as well as flexibility for occasional overnight stays and travel.

Key Responsibilities:

1. HGV Class 1 Licence: Must hold a valid HGV Class 1 licence to be eligible for the position.
2. Manual Handling: Assist with the manual handling of items, including lifting and moving furniture, ensuring the safe and careful handling of goods.
3. License Requirement: The candidate must have no more than 3 points on their driving licence.
4. Professional Commitment: Must be a responsible individual with life/family commitments, demonstrating a need for the job and showing dedication through their actions and conduct.
5. Work Schedule & Flexibility: The role is based on a 40-hour work week (Monday to Friday). However, hours may be slightly under 40 due to the 'job and knock' system. Occasional overnight stays and travel may be required depending on the nature of the work.
